Hello music fans, welcome back to my Podcast and this months Featured Tracks Playlist. For March’s playlist I’ve pulled together five great tracks, that for me, were a blast to write, play and listen to. For All the Good Times, Run with Me, I’m Gonna Let It Ride, Smooth as I Wanna Be, and a great song named The Usual, that is only available on my site, YouTube Music and YouTube. Starting off this playlist is For All the Good Times, from my CD Told Ya. This track is just fun. I love playing cool licks on the guitar and keyboards. In this track they are in a conversation. The walking bass line sets the rules for the conversation. For the piano chords, I’m using a Fender Rhodes piano sound and for the melody I’m using a Grand Piano sound. I played the guitar melody and solo on my Gibson SG; the guitar chords I played on my Fender Acoustic electric. Let’s give For All the Good Times, a listen.

Next up is Run with Me, from my CD Living in Strange Times. This track came about while playing around with different time signatures in this case 6/8. I found I really love writing in this time signature it gives lots of room for melodies. Once I started working on this track, I wanted it to be a conversation between the guitar and keyboards, like in For All the Good Times. So, on this one I’m playing my Fender acoustic electric guitar for the chords, melody and believe it or not the solo too. Let’s give Run with Me a listen.

Next is the title track from my CD I’m Gonna Let It Ride. I’m Gonna Let It Ride is one of my favorite blues / rock tracks. This track features a hot bass guitar part, cool rhythm guitar track, great drums, and a very hot solo. In this track I played my Fender Stratocaster for both rhythm and lead work. Let’s give I’m Gonna Let It Ride a listen.

Next up is the title track from my CD Smooth as I Wanna Be. Smooth As I Wanna Be came about while I was playing chords. In a few hours the foundation was laid down, meaning chords, bass, and rough melody. The next day the drums came and while watching my grandson and listening to the song, a new melody and chorus line came to me. I’m playing my Ibanez Hollow body for the melody and my Fender Stratocaster for the chords and solo work. Let’s give Smooth as I Wanna Be a listen.

The last track on this playlist is The Usual, from my 2015 CD, R. E.’s Style. This track is only available on YouTube, YouTube Music, and my website. Why, because I haven’t pushed the CD, R. E.’s Style yet to my digital distributor. This is another big song, with a great walking bass guitar line, a sweet melody, and a great sound canvas below it. This track is one of my favorite tracks. Let’s give The Usual a listen.
