Let’s get to the playlist.

Featured Tracks Playlist Featured 2023

To start off this playlist is Our Time, from my CD Living in Strange Times. In this track, I went back to my basics, cool guitar for chords, a little picking and a simple bass guitar line. I add in a beautiful electric piano sound for the melody and counter melody. What comes out, is a track that is rich but open and great atmosphere. I am playing my Fender acoustic electric guitar on this track for chords, melody, and solos. Let’s give Our Time, a listen.

Next up is Just Stay, from my CD Told Ya. I really think this is one of my best ballads and a direction I plan on continuing to grow in. This track starts with a soft piano and drums then builds from there. I add a layer of strings, and I’m playing my Ibanez Hallow Body for that melody. As the song continues to build, I add in some horns and as it crescendos the horns and strings are soaring with a killer guitar solo on top. Let’s give Just Stay a listen.

Next is A Walk In the Rain, from my CD 10. I love this track. This track has some very beautiful guitar picking with layers of strings and a simple bass guitar part. As this track builds the piano starts with a soft melody which is later echoed by the Fender Acoustic guitar. The two instruments, grand piano and guitar play off each other throughout this track, in a very simple but beautiful way. I love this bass work I did on this track it keeps the sound canvas together. Let’s give A Walk In the Rain a listen.

Next up is Just One Chance, from my CD Told Ya. This is a true ballad, with a grand piano playing the melody and the guitar stepping in accenting the melody and continuing with a sweet solo. In this track we have soft strings, walking bass line, and clean but powerful drum programming. Later in the track I have a few solos, the first is the acoustic guitar solo, then comes in a killer solo I played on my Fender Stratocaster. I keep hearing “Give me just one chance to prove my love to you” in this track, and that’s where the name came from. Let’s give Just One Chance a listen.

Next is One Step Closer To You, from my CD 10. This is one sweet smooth jazz ballad, from the opening chords, the cool rhythm guitar work and the bass part, this track is just cool. I love the rhythm guitar and bass in this track. The drum programing was a real pain to put together but worth it. The keyboards sound awesome for chords and that solo mid-way through the track. As I was writing this track, I kept hearing “in every step I take, I’m one step closer to you”. Let’s give One Step Closer To You a listen.

Lastly is I Miss You, from the CD I’m Gonna Let It Ride. I love a good ballad and I Miss You is just that. This beautiful ballad has some great piano and guitar work, and a beautiful string section in it. I’m playing my Fender Stratocaster on this one. For this track I went back to the piano and started writing. I was looking for that perfect chord progression to fit the music and mood I felt spinning around in my head. As I started recording the song, I decided to let the guitar drive only the melody, the vocals, if you will, and play the solo on the piano. The more I listen to this track the more I love it.  Let’s give I Miss You a listen.
