How did we get to the moon?

How did we get to the moon?

In 1969 mankind landed on the moon. This was just eight years after President John F. Kennedy’s amazing 1961 speech. So how did we do it? How did we do it without modern day computers do that math?  What led up to that historic first trip into space let alone the lunar landing of Apollo 11 on July 20, 1969?  I’m old enough, albeit I was a child, to remember watching the landing on the moon and being amazed.

I’ve often wondered how this was done, what was the back story. Below is a link to that story of what was called back then Human computers. Specifically the two links below are stories about the Black Female NASA human computer (mathematician) Katherine Johnson

The movie Hidden Figures  is about her and the others that not only got us into space but landed us on the moon. I can’t wait fir this movie.

Check back for more on NASA’s next trip to the moon and why it’s taken us so long?
