Featured Tracks Playlist September 2024
Hello, I’m R.E. Fort, and welcome back to my podcast, and this episode of my Featured Tracks playlist, September 2024. As I have said before, each month I create a playlist of my favorite tracks and share them in this podcast. For September, I wanted to feature just four of my favorite ballads. So, in this post we have There’s Never Enough Time, Day and Night, I’m Here For You, and Know That You’re Loved. As always, you can find links to this playlist for YouTube, YouTube Music, Spotify, Pandora, iTunes, and Amazon Music, in this post and on my website at refort.co/playlist. Let’s get to the playlist.
Podcast and Featured Tracks Playlist September 2024
The Playlist
Starting off this month’s playlist is, There’s Never Enough Time from my 2023 CD Life On The Other Side. This ballad is simply beautiful. I love the melody and orchestration on this track. I play the melody using both a baby grand piano sound and my Fender Acoustic Electric guitar. For the piano chords I used a Fender Rhodes electric piano sound with soft rising strings. Towards the end of the track, I bring in my Gibson SG for the guitar solo, giving the track a different feel. I hear in this track, “Why is there never enough time. But we will find a way”. Let’s give There’s Never Enough Time, a listen.
Next up is Day and Night from my 2022 CD Told Ya. This track is a smooth jazz ballad. The Fender Rhodes electric piano, bass guitar, and soft strings start this track off. The melody is played using a grand piano sound and my Ibanez Hollow Body eclectic guitar. Once the guitar takes over the melody the grand piano picks up an alternate melody. The orchestration on this track includes strings and soft horns giving it a really special feel to it. On this track I had a blast playing those solos on both the piano and the Ibanez hollow body guitar. Let’s give Day and Night a listen.
Next up is I’m Here for You from my 2022 CD Told Ya. This ballad is so beautiful with its soft melody and its cool groove. I start this track with just the Fender Rhodes electric piano sound. The sound canvas of this track has two different String sounds, a Rhodes electric piano sound for the chords and my Cort bass guitar. For the melody, I used a formula I have used many times before, which is the Fender Acoustic Electric and a great Grand Piano sound. I love the strings on this track and the soft hits during the chorus of the song. The piano and guitar solos really tie this song together perfectly. Let’s give I’m Here for You a listen.
The last song on this month’s playlist is, Know That You’re Loved, from my 2020 CD Living in Strange Times. I love the orchestration I did on this beautiful song. Opening with just the Fender Rhodes electric piano, playing the chords and that bass guitar set the stage. The alternate melody played using the strings, and Fender Rhodes electric piano, along with the percussion, fill out the orchestration or sound canvas for this track. At one point, this track was going to be a lullaby named, Sleep Now Little One, but as the song grew, it turned into this very cool smooth jazz ballad. I really love the interplay between the guitar and keyboard solos on this track. I play the guitar melody and the solo on my Fender Acoustic Electric. The keyboard solo I played using my favorite Grand Piano sound. Let’s give Know That You’re Loved a listen.
