Hello music fans, I’m R E Fort and welcome back to my Podcast and June’s Featured Tracks Playlist. With the release of my newest CD, Life on The Other Side, I thought I would feature on this month’s playlist four great tracks on this CD. The title track Life on The Other Side, Why Don’t Ya Just Let Us Play, Loves All I Have to Give, and Listen To Your Heart. Starting off June’s Featured Tracks Playlist is the title track from Life on The Other Side. As I was writing this track, I knew that I wanted it as the title track. There was something about the counter melody that hooked me. In fact, the counter melody is played on both the Fender Rhodes keyboard and the Fender Acoustic Electric guitar. In this track I am playing my Fender Acoustic Electric guitar for melody and the solo. I used two different piano sounds on this track a Fender Rhodes Electric piano and a Grand piano sound. Let’s give Life on The Other Side a listen.
Next up is Why Don’t Ya Just Let Us Play. On this one I wanted a big blues, rock, fusion track that would get you moving. This track came to me while I was playing my bass guitar and working with different drum patterns. That drum programming was a blast to work on. I used the Gibson SG for the chords and melody. I used my Fender Stratocaster for the solo at the end of the track. This track is big, loud, in your face and a lot of fun. Let’s give Why Don’t Ya Just Let Us Play a listen.
Next up is a beautiful ballad named Loves All I Have to Give. As I said in the CD release post, I was in a soulful ballad mood while writing this CD. In this track I always hear, Loves All I have, I can’t give any more than that. This ballad is so cool. I love the way the solo comes in on this track. This one has cool drum programming, nice bass guitar work and a killer solo. Let’s give Loves All I Have to Give a listen.
The last track on this month’s playlist is a beautiful ballad named Listen To Your Heart. Inspiration comes to me in many different ways. In this case, it came from my daughter Jessica. The family was at our house for dinner one Sunday and I heard my daughter humming a melody. I asked what she was humming, and she said nothing just something I made up. So, I sat down at the piano and started writing. This track is just beautiful, thank you Jessica for the inspiration. Let’s give Listen To Your Heart a listen.
