Hello and welcome back to my podcast, R. E. Fort Without Music Life Has No Soul. For the February Featured Tracks Playlist, I wanted a playlist to celebrate Valentine’s Day, and my granddaughter Phoebe’s first birthday so for this month’s playlist I selected these tracks: Love won’t Go Away, Never Another Love Like Ours, Love’s All I Have to Give, Just Stay, All I Need is in Your Eyes and Phoebe’s Pj’s Lullaby. As always, I’ve created this playlist on YouTube, YouTube Music, Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music, and Amazon Music, with links in this post and on my website at refort.co/playlist. Let’s get to the playlist.
Podcast and Featured Tracks Playlist February 2026
Playlist
First up is Love Won’t Go Away from my 2025 release, Stop Wait and Think. This track has such a great groove, I think it has a kind of Caribbean vibe to it. The melody is played using a Grand piano sound and my Fender acoustic guitar. I love that bass guitar line on this track, it’s bouncy and fun to play. For the rest of the orchestration, I used a Fender Rhodes electric piano sound, my Fender Stratocaster for the chords and soft rising Strings. Let’s give Love Won’t Go Away a listen.
Next up is Never Another Love Like Ours, from my 2019 release Smooth as I Wanna Be. This beautiful ballad is very moving and touching. I love the simple, clean, but full sound of this track with just a Piano sound, Guitars and drums. I played my Ibanez hollow body guitar for the melody and the solo on this track. I’m playing my Fender acoustic electric guitar for the guitar chords. I’m using a Grand Piano sound for the melody, counter melody, and chords. The walking bass guitar line is this track moving. Let’s give Never Another Love Like Ours a listen.
Next up, Love’s All I Have to Give from my 2023 release Life on The Other Side. On this track I found a great soulful 6/8 drum program that felt right for the song. I kept it simple on this one, just the Fender Rhodes electric piano for the chords, a smooth bass guitar, and for the melody I’m using a grand piano sound and my Fender Acoustic electric guitar. For the accents and solo I also used my fender acoustic electric guitar. I always hear, “Loves All I have, I can’t give more than that” when I’m listening to this track. Let’s give Love’s All I Have to Give, a listen.
Next up is Just Stay from my 2022 release Told Ya. Now this power ballad is one of my all-time favorites with its big third section and solos. The track starts soft, simple and beautiful with a Fender Rhodes electric piano sound playing the chords, with soft rising strings. The melody begins with a baby grand piano sound and later I add my Ibanez Hollow Body. That third section I bring in the horns and string sounds and that killer guitar solo I played on my Gibson SG. Let’s give Just Stay a listen.
Next up is All I Need is in Your Eyes from my 2023 release Life on The Other Side. When I’m writing sometimes the chords or bass guitar line comes first on this one, it was the melody. On ballads like this one, I try to keep them simple as possible. So, we have a Grand Piano for the chords with soft rising strings. The bass guitar is busy with simple but moving bass line with that cool drum programming. The melody is played using a Fender Rhodes piano sound and my Gibson SG. Let’s give All I Need Is in Your Eyes a listen.
To close out this month’s playlist is Phoebe’s Pj’s Lullaby from 2025 release Stop Wait and Think. This is a beautiful lullaby I wrote for my first and so far, only granddaughter Phoebe, whose birthday is in February. Happy Birthday PJ. This lullaby started on the piano with soft strings. But once I recorded those sections, I knew it needed more. So, I added my Ibanez nylon acoustic electric guitar for the melody and wrote a cool bass guitar line. Let’s give Phoebe’s Pj’s Lullaby a listen.
