Hello and welcome back to my podcast, R. E. Fort Without Music Life Has No Soul, and this episode of my Featured Tracks playlist. For the December Featured Tracks playlist, I wanted to talk about some of my favorite ballads and smooth jazz tracks. So, let’s talk about these five tracks: Love Won’t go Away, Loves All I Have to Give, Day and Night, Know That You’re Love and There’s Never Enough time. As always, I’ve created playlist for YouTube, YouTube Music, Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music, or Amazon Music, that are in this post and on my website at refort.co/playlist. Let’s get to the playlist.
Podcast and Featured Tracks Playlist December 2025
Playlist
First up is, Love Won’t go Away from my 2025 release Stop Wait and Think. This track is smooth jazz style ballad that has an island or Caribbean feel to it. I am playing my Stratocaster for the chord changes along with my favorite Rhodes Electric piano sound. For that melody I used my Fender Acoustic Electric guitar and a great sounding grand piano sound. I also played that solo using my Fender Acoustic Electric. This beautiful ballad is so cool, and I love the solo and I really had a blast playing the bass guitar on this one creating that walking bass line. Let’s give Love Won’t go Away.
Next up is Loves All I Have to Give from my 2023 release Life on The Other Side. On this beautiful soulful jam I kept it simple, just the Fender Rhodes electric piano for the chords, a smooth bass guitar part, and a soulful 6/8 drum program. For the melody I’m using a grand piano sound and my Fender Acoustic electric. For the accents and solo I also used my fender acoustic electric guitar. In this track I always hear, Loves All I have, I can’t give any more than that. This track is just so beautiful, and I love the solo work on this track. Let’s give Loves All I Have to Give a listen.
Next up is, Day and Night from my 2022 release Told Ya. I started this smooth jazz power ballad off with my favorite Fender Rhodes electric piano sound, bass guitar, and soft rising strings. The melody is played using a grand piano sound and my Ibanez Hollow Body eclectic guitar. Once the guitar takes over the melody the grand piano picks up an alternate melody. The orchestration on this track includes strings and soft horns giving it a special feel. I had a blast playing those solos on both the piano and the Ibanez hollow body guitar. Let’s give Day and Night a listen.
Next up is Know That You’re Loved from my 2020 release Living in Strange Times. I start the song with my favorite Fender Rhodes electric piano sound, and a cool bass guitar part. The rest of the orchestration includes those soft rising strings, and that Rhodes electric piano playing the chords. I really love the interplay between the guitar and keyboard solos on this track. I play the guitar melody and the solo on my Fender Acoustic Electric. I played the keyboard solo using my favorite Grand Piano sound. At one point, this track was going to be a lullaby named, Sleep Now Little One, but as the song grew, it turned into this very cool smooth jazz ballad. Let’s give Know That You’re Loved a listen.
To close out this month’s playlist is There’s Never Enough Time from my 2023 release Life on The Other Side. This ballad is so smooth, I almost put it in my smooth jazz genre. I love the interplay between the Fender Acoustic Electric and the Grand Piano on the melody of this track. I played the chords, using again my favorite Rhodes electric piano sound with soft rising strings. I brought in my Gibson SG for the guitar solo on this track which gives the track a new vibe. Whenever I listen to this track, I always hear in the melody, “Why is there never enough time. But we will find a way”. Let’s give, There’s Never Enough Time a listen.
