Podcast and Featured Tracks Playlist April 2025
The Playlist
Starting off our playlist is the title track of this CD Stop Wait and Think. This track was a blast to write and it’s a blast to play. On this track I am playing my Fender Stratocaster for all the guitar work. I added some great sounding horns, a Rhodes Electric piano sound and to accent the melody I added a cool sounding DX synth sound. I really love the rhythm guitar work on this track. The third section on this track is awesome with a very cool guitar solo along with some killer horns accenting the hits. Let’s give Stop Wait and Think and listen.
Next up is Love Won’t Go Away a very cool smooth jazz style ballad that has an island or Caribbean feel to it. On this track I am playing my Stratocaster for the chord changes along with a cool Rhodes Electric piano sound. The melody I played using my Fender Acoustic Electric guitar and a grand piano sound. I also played that solo using my Fender Acoustic Electric. This beautiful ballad is so cool, and I love the solo on this one. I really had a blast playing the bass guitar on this one creating that walking bass line. Let’s give Love Won’t Go Away a listen.
Next up is Phoebe’s PJ’s Lullaby. When my first grandchild Tyson was on his way, I made the decision that I would write a lullaby for each of my grandkids. So, when my daughter announced she was pregnant I sat at the piano and started writing what would become her lullaby. So why the name you ask, well my daughter’s nickname is Peanut so, we called the new baby PJ or Peanut Junior, and it stuck. Phoebe’s PJ’s lullaby started with only piano and strings but once I started recording the track I knew it needed my Ibanez Nylon acoustic electric on the melody and some cool but simple drums. I love this beautiful lullaby. Let’s give Phoebe’s PJ’s Lullaby a listen.
Closing out this month’s playlist is Just Remember I’m Always There for You. This is an up-tempo rhythmic soul track with a great groove. This big track has some killer strings, horns, a great bass line and a very cool solo. I am playing my Fender Acoustic electric for chords and the melody. That melody is also echoed using a grand piano sound and some cool sounding horns. I used my Fender Stratocaster for the solo on this track. Let’s give Just Remember I’m Always There for You a listen.
