Featured Tracks Playlist November 2024
Hello, I’m R.E. Fort, and welcome back to my podcast, and this month’s episode of my Featured Tracks playlist, November 2024. I really love ballads or love songs. There’s just something about the format or the feel of that genre, that I find myself always writing all the time. So, in this month’s playlist I wanted to feature five beautiful ballads, There’s Never Enough Time, Our Time, Love’s All I Have To Give, All I need is in Your Eyes and lastly, I Can’t Say Goodbye. As always, you can find links to this playlist for YouTube, YouTube Music, Spotify, Pandora, iTunes, and Amazon Music, in this post and on my website at refort.co/playlist. Let’s get to the playlist.
Podcast and Featured Tracks Playlist November 2024
The Playlist
Starting off this month’s playlist is the track There’s Never Enough Time from my 2023 CD Life On The Other Side. This ballad is so smooth, I almost put it in my smooth jazz genre. I love the interplay between the Fender Acoustic Electric and the Grand Piano on the melody of this track. I played the chords, using a Rhodes electric piano sound with soft rising strings. I brought in my Gibson SG for the guitar solo on this track which gives the track a new vibe. Whenever I listen to this track, “Why is there never enough time. But we will find a way”. Let’s give There’s Never Enough Time a listen.
Next up, is Our Time from my 2020 CD Living In Strange Times. For this beautiful ballad I went back to my basics, Fender Acoustic electric guitar, a Grand Piano, a little guitar picking, a simple bass guitar line and some cool drum programing. This keeps the sound canvas clean and open, leaving a nice open space for the melody and solos. I played that melody using my Fender acoustic electric guitar and a beautiful Rhodes electric piano sound. One thing I love about this track is the guitar solo at the end. Let’s give Our Time a listen.
Next up, is Love’s All I Have To Give from my 2023 CD Life On The Other Side. This is a very beautiful soulful jam. On this track I kept it simple, just the Fender Rhodes electric piano for the chords, a smooth bass guitar, and a soulful 6/8 drum program. For the melody I’m using a grand piano sound and my Fender Acoustic electric guitar. For the accents and solo I also used my fender acoustic electric guitar. In this track I always hear, Loves All I have, I can’t give any more than that. This track is just so beautiful, and I love the solo work on it. Let’s give Love’s All I Have To Give a listen.
Next up is, All I Need is in Your Eyes from my 2023 CD Life On The Other Side. In this beautiful song, I used a grand piano sound for the chords with soft rising strings. I played the melody using a Fender Rhodes electric piano sound and my Gibson SG. When it came time for me to name this track, I spent a lot of time listening to the track. Listening to what the song is telling me. On this one I kept hearing “All I need to survive, is in your eyes” Let’s give All I Need is in Your Eyes a listen.
Closing out this month’s playlist is, I Can’t Say Goodbye from my 2019 CD Smooth As I Wanna Be. This track took me years to finish, in fact, it started out as a piano only song. This track is one of my favorite ballads I’ve ever written. I absolutely love the sound of that beautiful grand piano. The track has three sections to it, a melody, a chorus and a third section or bridge, so yes, it is a little complex but very beautiful. On this track I’m playing my Fender Acoustic Electric guitar for the melody and the solo work. I really had a blast writing that bass guitar line and programming those drums for this track. Let’s give I Can’t Say Goodbye a listen.
