Hello music fans, I’m R E Fort and welcome to June’s Featured Tracks Playlist and Podcast. In this months playlist I am featuring 4 very cool tracks. For June’s featured tracks playlist, we have four great tracks. I added two tracks from my new cd Told Ya, the title track and a beautiful ballad named I’m Here For You. From Living In Strange Times I added a great track named My Haunted Mind and lastly the title track from Smooth As I Wanna Be. To start us off is the title track Told Ya. This track is a very cool smooth jazz ballad track with a great groove. This track I am playing a few different guitar on it. I’m playing the Ibanez Hollow Body guitar for the rhythm and the melody. The solo is the Fender Stratocaster. I really love the way the strings and horns accent the counter melody in this smooth jazz ballad. Lets give Told Ya a listen.

Next up is I’m Here For You. On this beautiful ballad I’m using a few instrument sounds. For the piano chords I am using an Rhodes electric piano sound. For the piano melody, I am using a Grand Piano sound. The guitar work melody and solo I used on my Fender Acoustic electric guitar. The track has a sweet walking bass guitar line through it. The strings accent and really help drive and fill out this track. Let’s give I’m Here For You a listen.

Next up is My Haunted Mind. This track is a cool jazz meets smooth jazz track. This track started out a little slower and really had a cool vibe but when I let my brother Keith, an accomplished musician himself listen to the track he made the suggestion of kicking up the tempo and seeing what it sounded like. So now I had already recorded most of the track. So I turned off all of the guitars and tried it and feel in love with the results. I’m using a grand piano sound for the melody and the piano solo. For all of the other keyboard sounds I’m using a Rhodes electric piano sound. The Guitar work on this track is my Gibson SG for both the melody and solo. Let’s give My Haunted Mind a listen.

The last track in this months playlist is the title track from Smooth As I Wanna Be. I know great title. This is a great smooth jazz track with a great groove, very cool melody and solo. I love the bass guitar work in the track and the drums they really keep this track moving. I’m playing my Ibanez Hollow Body for the melody and the Fender Stratocaster for the guitar solo. I really love the piano solo after the guitar solo in this track. The sound canvas behind the melody and solos in this track are captivating with soft subtle counter melodies throughout. This is one of my favorite tracks. Let’s give Smooth As I Wanna Be a listen.
