Hello and welcome back to my podcast, R. E. Fort Without Music Life Has No Soul. First off, Happy Birthday to everyone with an April birthday. For the April Featured Tracks Playlist, I wanted a playlist with some touching ballads and up-tempo tracks to get you moving. So, for this month’s playlist I selected these tracks: There’ll Be Time for Us, I Don’t Really Know Anymore, Just One Chance, Blues Ain’t Blue Enough, and lastly, My Haunted Mind. As always, I’ve created this playlist on YouTube, YouTube Music, Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music, and Amazon Music, with links in this post and on my website at refort.co/playlist. Let’s get to the playlist.
Podcast and Featured Tracks Playlist April 2026

First up is There’ll Be Time for Us, from my 2023 release, Life on The Other Side. This beautiful ballad is about time and love and to me it’s almost a prayer. Praying, that in the end there will be time for us. The melodies I played using a Fender Rhodes electric piano sound, my Martin acoustic electric and a little with the Stratocaster. I used my Fender Acoustic eclectic guitar for the solo. I love my bass guitar work on this track. The strings and a Grand Piano sound set the canvas up for this track. Let’s give There’ll Be Time for Us, a listen.
Next up is I Don’t Really Know Anymore, from my 2025 release, Stop Wait and Think. This is a beautifully layered track with two rhythm guitar sections, strings, and keyboards setting the foundation for this track. The drum programming and that bass guitar part keeps the track moving and grooving. I echoed the melody or hook using a flute sound and the Stratocaster played in the background. The main melody is played on my Fender Acoustic and a combination of a flute and soft pad sounds. I played the solo on my Gibson SG. Let’s give I Don’t Really Know Anymore a listen.
Next up, Just One Chance from my 2022 release, Told Ya. On this blues ballad I’m playing the melody with my Ibanez Hollow Body guitar and a Grand Piano sound. My Fender Acoustic Electric is playing the rhythm guitar and believe it or not, the guitar solo. On keyboards, for the chords I’m using a Rhodes Electric Piano, and my favorite strings or orchestra sounds. Those soft strings really help fill the track out. The bass guitar work I did on this track really keeps it moving. Let’s give Just One Chance, a listen.
Next up is, Blues Ain’t Blue Enough from my 2022 release, Told Ya. I really love this blues track. My son Chris, an amazing pianist, named the track the first time he heard it when he said “Blue’s Ain’t Blue Enough for this track dad” and so it was named. In this track I am playing my Fender Stratocaster for the melody and solo. I really like my bass guitar bass line on this one. I’m using a Grand piano sound for the chords, and my Hammond Organ sound is covering the melody and keyboard solo. Let’s give Blues Ain’t Blue Enough a listen.
To close out this month’s playlist is My Haunted Mind from my 2020 release Living in Strange Times. This cool jazz track is still one of my favorites. I really love the orchestration on this track. I kept it simple with a cool walking bass guitar line, a Fender Rhodes electric piano sound for the backing chords and a baby grand piano sound for the melody and solo. I am playing my Fender Stratocaster for all the guitar work. The track is written in the key of C minor which gives it that mysterious sound to it. Let’s give My Haunted Mind a listen.
