Elliot and Ashera are back in London with their young daughter. Elliot is back at his university hosting lectures to full house. It seems his celebrity is paying off with a standing room only lecture hall. After the lecture, the Dean of the University comes and asks him for a favor.  He needs Elliot to travel to Dubai as a condition of new and much needed funding to help the archeology department stay afloat.

Once they arrive in Dubai the action begins. At a reception hosted by the Sheiks family they displayed two artifacts, two tablets possibly created by the Ancients. Elliot is shocked and starts warning the family that they should not be on display and sent to the group that is studying the Ancients.

Before they can resolve the issue somehow a group has infiltrated the reception. At gunpoint they have taken the reception hostage and plan on taking the two tablets and kidnaping Elliot. Ashera has stepped away to find cell phone service to inform another colleague of the tablets and finds herself cut off from Elliot and the group. With betrayals, suspense and action running deep, can they find their way out of this situation.

Now on my scale of one to five, one being don’t bother and five a real page turner, I’m going to give Blood in the Sand a solid five. It’s a good fast paced story that’s a very good read. I can’t wait to read the next episode in the series.
