Hello fellow readers, in this book review I’m covering the forth book in the (Memory Man Series) The Fallen, by David Baldacci. The tracks playing in this post are select tracks from my CD 10 which you can now find on iTunes, Apple Music, Google Play, Spotify and soon, streaming on your favorite networks. Lets dig into this review.

The Fallen starts with our hero’s Amos Decker and Alex Jamison, on vacation from the FBI. They are visiting Alex’s sister and family in Baronville Pennsylvania. Baronville is a small town ravished by the opioid crisis and loss of manufacturing jobs. Alex’s sister’s family moved there because of a job for her brother-in-law.

While Decker is relaxing on the back porch of Alex’s sisters house, he sees strange lights flickering from one of the neighbors houses. Soon followed by sparks. Amos rushes over to see what is happening and if he can help out.

Amos and Alex find themselves at a double murder scene. One that will exposes the quite town of Baronville for the problems that it truly has, a world of, danger, mystery, drugs, and intrigue.

Using Baronville as his back drop, David Baldacci provides an amazing look at the rust belt and how the opioid crisis has hit these small towns that hardest. Weaving into the book how boom towns started and then fell apart as business left and forgot about them.

This book was a great read, full of intrigue, twists and turns. On my scale of 1 to 5, 1 being don’t bother and 5 a real page turner, I give The Fallen, a 5. David Baldacci has done an amazing job at building on some very strong and complex characters. The story is very captivating, fast paced and a great read and I’m already into the next in the series.
