Book Review: The Lost Symbol

Dan Brown The Lost SymbolThis review covers another amazing story by one of my favorite writers, Dan Brown. The Lost Symbol. Different from his other stories, The Lost Symbol takes place in a twelve-hour period. From start to finish, I felt like I was on a roller coaster. This book is a thrill ride from start to finish.

During this 12 hour window, Dan Brown takes us on a thrill ride filled with murder, suspense, The CIA and a look at our hero Robert Langdon’s time with one of oldest friends, Peter Solomon. Peter, like his father, and father before him, were Masons. Peter rose to one of the highest potions in this brotherhood.

Brown, opens the book with an initiation ceremony to the Masons. Cut to Peter Solomon’s past and the death of his only son, Zachary, the heir to the family fortune and the secretes of the Masons. On Zachary’s 18th birthday, the Solomon family tradition required that he make a choice, to take his inheritance or put that money aside and join the Masons, learning the great secretes of the brotherhood and gaining the wisdom to do great things with his inheritance.

On my scale of 1 to 5, 1 being don’t bother and 5 a real page turner, I give The Lost Symbol a solid 5. This story is captivating, fast paced and full of surprises. I highly recommend this one for all you Dan Brown fans, you wont be disappointed.
