Announcing: Stop Wait and Think
Stop Wait and Think is my 15th CD and my 7th publicly released CD. I started writing this CD late in 2023 and had a few tracks come to me in early 2024. This CD is a collection of Blues, Ballads, Rhythmic Soul and Fusion tracks. I also wrote two lullabies for two of my three grandchildren.
Now, about the CD artwork, I love taking close up photos of the full moon and this one came out so cool I had to use it. I later decided to ask Chat GPT to create an image based on just the title of the cd. Which, took me down a strange rabbit whole of images. But I loved the guy standing looking at the title. I took that image and after a fair amount of clean up I added and layered my full moon image. I think it looks really cool. I hope you enjoy the music.

Stop Wait and Think, is a big bold and fun track, with a great groove. I’m playing my Stratocaster for all the guitar work. On keyboards I used a combination of instruments from a Flute sound, strings, horns and a very cool DX Synth sounds that feels like bells playing along with the guitar. This fusion track really is one hot track that will get you moving.
For Themselves, is a rock fusion track. I play the melody using my Stratocaster, along with a Grand Piano sound. On keyboards I used a combination of instruments, strings and a Fender Rhodes electric piano sound for chords. The solos are played using my Gibson SG. This track is an up tempo track that rocks and will get you moving.
I Don’t Really Know Anymore, is a beautifully layered track with two rhythm guitar sections, strings, and keyboards setting the ground for the orchestration of the track. The drum programming and that bass guitar line keep the rhythm section moving. On this one I am echoing the melody or hook using a flute sound and the Fender Stratocaster played in the background. The main melody is played on my Fender Acoustic and a combination of keyboard sounds, a flute and soft pad. The two rhythm guitar sections playing gives this track that cool sound. One is just a single chord hit with a chorus FXs on it and the other is the Stratocaster strumming it out.
What Went Wrong, is a fun moving track that has my Gibson holding down the solo and the melody. My Fender Acoustic electric is covering the guitar picking or chords. The keyboards accent the melody with a grand piano sound and soft pad to add a little depth. I love the way the solo rolls into this track. The drum programming was a blast to work on and create.
Love Won’t Go Away, is an up-tempo ballad with a cool Caribbean vibe to it. The melody is played on a Grand piano sound and my Fender acoustic. I love that bass guitar walking line I use on this track, its bouncy and fun to play. The solo sounds so cool on this track. I really had a blast putting the Fender Rhodes chords and the String arrangement together for this great track. I really do love the keyboard work on this one too.
When I look in your eyes, is a beautiful ballad that has a great soft string arrangement. I love the melody that played on my Fender Acoustic and Baby Grand piano sounds. The strings sound awesome on this one.
You’re My One and Only Love, is another sweet and beautiful ballad. This track has a great string arrangement and a very sweet melody to it. The bass guitar keeps the track moving along with those drums pushing to the next level. The solo on this track is awesome, bouncing between the grand piano sound and the Fender Stratocaster.
Open your Eyes to love, is a simple but beautiful open chords track. I played the chords on my Fender Acoustic Electric and kept a simple but moving bass guitar line to keep it moving. I added a cool flute sound to the melody along with the guitar. The track is just simply beautiful.
Nothing matters but love, is another ballad on this CD and is very cool. I love the way this one just glides along like a smooth groove. On this one I really had a good time working on the drums getting those toms to really punch through on those breaks. I used my Fender Acoustic electric and a grand piano sound for the melody. I also use the same Fender Acoustic guitar for the chords on this track with some cool finger work on the chord changes.
Just remember I’m always there for you, is a huge track, with Strings, Horns, grand piano sound and a Rhodes electric piano sound. I am playing my Fender acoustic for the melody and chords on this with the piano coming in to help build out that melody. The strings really help define the verse from the chorus on this track. The solo on this track takes it to a new place, one that I call the rhythmic soul genre. That solo is so cool, and I had such a blast writing it.
Phoebe’s (PJ’s) Lullaby, was written to celebrate the upcoming birth of my first granddaughter Phoebe Jude Ann, aka PJ. I was sitting at my grand piano and the melody for the track came to me. I really wanted this to be just a lullaby, with nothing but the piano and soft strings. But, somehow, I did end up adding drums and bass guitar. I added my Ibanez Nylon acoustic electric for the melody.
Tydus’s Lullaby, was written for my now 4-year-old grandson Tydus. I added my Ibanez Nylon acoustic electric for the melody. I was sitting at my grand piano and the melody for the track came to me. Somehow, I did end up adding drums and bass guitar.
