Featured Tracks Playlist September 2025

Hello music fans, I’m R.E. Fort and welcome back to my podcast, and this episode of my Featured Tracks playlist, for September 2025. In this post, I had an idea to ask Google’s AI tool what my top five tracks are and the results were so cool I decided I would go with them. So, let’s talk about these five great tracks: Stop Wait and Think, Life on the Other Side, Told Ya, Living in Strange Times, and Smooth as I Wanna Be. As always, you can find links to this playlist for YouTube, YouTube Music, Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music, or Amazon Music, in this post and on my website at refort.co/playlist. Let’s get to the playlist.
Podcast and Featured Tracks Playlist September 2025
Playlist
To start this month’s playlist is the title track from my 2025 release Stop Wait and Think. The track is a big, bold, fusion track with a great groove. On this track I am playing all the guitar parts using my Fender Stratocaster. This one has some very cool midi instruments from horns; strings and a cool DX synth sound I use to help support the guitar melody on this track. The drum programming was so much fun to program using Addictive Drums and some cool midi drum patches I pulled together and edited. I love the rhythm guitar’s bright and crips sound on this track. Let’s give Stop Wait and Think a listen.
Next up is the title track from my 2023 release Life on the Other Side. While I started writing this soulful blues ballad I was thinking about how young love is so different than the love you feel after you’ve been married for years. That’s how the title came about, Life on the Other Side of that Young Love. All the guitar work on this track is played on my workhorse, my Fender Acoustic Electric guitar. I used a Rhodes Electric piano sound and the guitar for the counter melody. The main melody features a Grand Piano sound and my Fender Acoustic Electric. The solo on this track uses a cool rock or distortion effect from Guitar Rig played on my Acoustic Electric. Let’s give Life on the Other Side a listen.
Next up is the title track from my 2022 release Told Ya. Told Ya is a smooth jazz ballad. I love this tracks melody and its smooth groove. The title came from my wife Cheryl, while she was listening to me composing the track she just sang out Told Ya. On this one I’m playing the melody and rhythm guitar section on my Ibanez hollow body, and the solo is my Fender Stratocaster. I really love how the horns and strings came together on this track and its great bass guitar line. Let’s give Told Ya a listen.
Next up is the title track from my 2020 release Living in Strange Times. The song and the CD “Living in Strange Times” were largely composed during the Covid-19 pandemic. As I was writing this one, I used the off tempo feeling to reflect on the unusual times we were living in. I love the cool chords changes on this track and that great walking bass guitar line. The guitar melody I played on my Fender Acoustic electric and the solo was my Fender Stratocaster. Let’s give Living in Strange Times a listen.
The last track on this playlist is the title track from my 2019 release Smooth as I Wanna Be. This track has a cool smooth jazz feel that came about while I was experimenting with chords and voicing. The guitar chords are played on my Fender Stratocaster, and I really love the bass guitar work and chord changes. The melody I used my Ibanez hollow body, and the solo I went back to my Fender Stratocaster. The track has such a soulful melody and a great bass guitar line. Let’s give, Smooth as I Wanna Be a listen.
