So, let’s talk about these tracks: Real Enough, Listen Up, Why do we do the things that we do, How do I say goodbye to you and lastly, Requiem. Podcast and Featured Tracks Playlist September 2026

Kicking off my September playlist is the title track Real Enough. This awesome Rhythmic soul track is one of my favorites on this release. I almost named this one “Let’s go for a ride” but as I was thinking, which track would work best for the title track this one won out. What makes it one of my favorites you ask? That cool bass guitar part, those great drums, the cool rhythm guitar section and those killer hits, horns and solo. I played my Fender Stratocaster for chords, and I used my Fender acoustic electric for that cool melody. The solo is my Gibson SG. On keyboards for the chords and the rest of the sound canvas I used my favorite Rhodes electric Piano sound, Strings and Horns. For the melody I used two layered sounds, a DX Mania and Ion Flux. Let’s give Real Enough a listen.
Next is Listen Up. I put this track in the Rhythmic soul genre. I love its cool bass guitar part, killer drum programming and I love that melody. I hear the title in it every time I listen to the track. On this one my Stratocaster covers the chords and the solo. For the melody I used my Gibson SG. On keyboards, for the chords and rest of the sound canvas I used my favorite Rhodes electric piano sound, with Strings and Horns to fill it out. For keyboard melody, I used that two layered sounds, a DX Mania and Ion Flux that I’m truly loving. This track is simply awesome and has a great guitar solo. Let’s give Listen Up a listen.
Next up is Why do we do the things that we do. This huge Rhythmic Soul track came about while I was playing around with some interesting chords that fell into a cool grove. The chords and the solo are my Fender Stratocaster. That sweet melody is my Gibson SG. On keyboards for the chords and sound canvas I used my favorite Rhodes electric piano sound, with Strings and Horns and the melody a cool DX Keyboard sound. The title came from listening to the track and hearing that title in the melody, why do we do the things that we do even though we know it’s not good for us. I love how I started my guitar improvisation work over the melody so soon on this track. Let’s give Why do we do the things that we do, a listen.
Next up is How do I say goodbye to you. This is a huge Blues track. Really enjoy listening to and playing this one. On the guitar side for the chords, melody and solo I used my Stratocaster. On keyboards for the chords and sound canvas, I used my favorite Grand Piano sound with Strings and Horns. I played the melody with my favorite Rhodes Electric piano sound. I love that soft counter melody on the grand piano and how spacious this track sounds. I love how I changed the drum pattern for the guitar solo and how it makes it sound like a different song, and I love the way my Stratocaster sounds in that solo. Let’s give How do I say goodbye to you, a listen.
To close out this month’s playlist is Requiem. This blues track feels like someone mourning and at the same time celebrating the life of a loved one that has passed on. The track came about while I was playing around with repeated melodies or themes when this melody came to me. As I was working on this track, I was placing it in the movie themes or atmosphere genre. But as I played and listened to it I knew it was a blues track. I played my Fender Stratocaster for all the guitar work, letting the bass guitar, drum programming and keyboards set the foundation for the track. Let’s give Requiem, a listen
