Hello music fans, I’m R.E. Fort and welcome back to my podcast, and this episode of my Featured Tracks playlist, for October 2025. In this post, I wanted to bring in a few favorite ballads and up-tempo smooth jazz tracks. So, let’s talk about these five great tracks: Just Remember I’m Always There for You, My Haunted Mind, Your Kiss, Listen to Your Heart and Just Stay. As always, you can find links to this playlist for YouTube, YouTube Music, Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music, or Amazon Music, in this post and on my website at refort.co/playlist. Let’s get to the playlist.
Podcast and Featured Tracks Playlist October 2025
Playlist
To start this month’s playlist is, Just Remember I’m Always There for You, from my CD, Stop Wait and Think. I place this track in the genre, rhythmic soul or smooth jazz, and it’s simply awesome. This big bold track has some great orchestration with horns, strings, some cool synth sounds to accent the melody and a great solo towards the end of the track. On this one I’m playing my Fender acoustic for the melody and chords. I used my Fender Stratocaster for the solo on this track. Let’s give Just Remember I’m Always There for You a listen.
Next up is My Haunted Mind from my CD Living in Strange Times. This track I placed in the genre cool jazz. I really love the orchestration on this track. I kept it simple with a cool walking bass guitar line, a Fender Rhodes electric piano sound for the backing chords and a baby grand piano sound for the melody and solo. I am playing my Fender Stratocaster for all the guitar work. I wrote this track in the key of C minor which has a dark or mysterious sound to it, hence the title. Let’s give My Haunted Mind a listen.
Next up is Your Kiss from my CD I’m Gonna Let It Ride. This is a smooth jazz, upbeat song with a lush soundscape and a beautiful melody. This track showcases the first set of horn and strings sounds that I fell in love with. I use them to push this track’s groove forward along with that killer solo. I played the melody and solo on the Fender Stratocaster. The Fender Rhodes Electric piano is holding down the chords along with those strings and horns. I really love my drum programming and those string and horn hits over the solo. This is just a great song, I hope you enjoy it. Let’s give Your Kiss a listen.
Let’s slow things down a bit with Listen to Your Heart. This track is from my CD Life on The Other Side. The inspiration for this track came during one of our Sunday family dinners, when I heard my daughter humming or whistling a little melody. I sat at the piano and started to play the melody she was whistling, and the song was born. I love my arrangement on this track, starting with just the piano and soft strings. I’m playing my fender acoustic electric on this track for the melody along with that great baby grand piano sound. This track takes you on a journey from its soft opening through a powerful middle section and back to a soft ending. Let’s give Listen to Your Heart a listen.
The last track on this month’s playlist is Just Stay, from my CD Told Ya. This power ballad starts with a Fender Rhodes electric piano sound playing the chords, with soft rising strings. The melody begins with a baby grand piano sound and later I add in my Ibanez Hollow Body. I love the horns and string sounds I used on this track; they really drive the song. The third section of the track with those great horns, strings, drum programing and that killer guitar solo I played on my Gibson SG, sound awesome. Let’s give, Just Stay a listen.
