Hello and welcome back to my podcast, R. E. Fort Without Music Life Has No Soul. For the June Featured Tracks Playlist, I wanted a playlist with some cool tracks to kick off Summer. So, for this month’s playlist I selected these tracks: I Don’t Really Know Anymore, Know That You’re Loved, For Themselves, My Haunted Mind and lastly, I Miss You. As always, I’ve created a playlist of these tracks on YouTube, YouTube Music, Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music, and Amazon Music, with links in this post and on my website at refort.co/playlist. Let’s get to the playlist.
Podcast and Featured Tracks Playlist June 2026
Playlist
You know, I had a hard time picking tracks for this playlist but as I went through them, I knew the first track had to be I Don’t Really Know Anymore, from my 2025 release, Stop Wait and Think. This track has such a beautiful arrangement. The sound canvas has strings, a fender Rhodes electric piano and I’m playing my Gibson SG with a cool chorus effect and my Fender Acoustic electric guitar for the chords. I really love that bass guitar slide sound that’s in this track too. The melody I played using my Fender Stratocaster and a cool flute sound. The solo is my Gibson SG. To me this track has a soulful Caribbean feel to it. Let’s give I Don’t Really Know Anymore a listen.
Next up is Know That You’re Loved, from my 2020 release, Living in Strange Times. I love the intro to this track, with its simple but very pretty Fender Rhodes electric piano sound. I also love the bass guitar part too, it’s busy but not too busy. I’m playing my Fender Acoustic Electric for the melody and solo on this track. This song has such a cool feel to it with its soft strings, clean drums, great bass line and a cool piano solo. The way I introduce the piano solo, with a little guitar improvisation sounds perfect. Let’s give Know That You’re Loved a listen.
Ok it’s time to kick things up a notch with, For Themselves from my 2025 release Stop Wait and Think. This rock fusion track takes me back to my days playing and writing in rock bands. Especially the third section of this track. I’m playing my Fender Stratocaster for the chords and the melody. The rest of the canvas is my Fender Rhodes electric piano sound and my favorite String sound. The melody is a combination of a Grand Piano sound and my Stratocaster. The guitar solos are my Gibson SG. That third section in this track simply rocks. Let’s give For Themselves, a listen.
Next up, My Haunted Mind from my 2020 release Living in Strange Times. This is such a cool jazz track and one of my favorites. The hock of the song came about accidentally while playing the bass guitar, so I decided to echo or repeat it using piano and melody guitar work. The Rhodes Electric piano sound covers the chord changes. I really love that Grand piano solo towards the end of the track. All the guitar work is my Fender Stratocaster. This track really feels like you’re in a small jazz club listing to a group just having fun. Let’s listen to My Haunted Mind.
To close out this month’s playlist I went back 10 years and selected the track I Miss You from my 2016 release I’m Gonna Let It Ride. I really love this beautiful ballad. As I was recording this song, working out solos and breaks, I decided to let the Fender Stratocaster handle the melody. The cool piano solo, and all the piano work, I’m using my favorite Grand Piano sound. The more I listen to this track the more I love it. The string arrangement sounds awesome with two separate banks, a high and low string bank. Getting those drums to hit right where they needed to be took a lot of time, but it came out awesome. Let’s give I Miss You a listen.
