Today, my wife and I are celebrating our 32nd wedding anniversary but our time together goes further than that. My bride and I have known each other for over 40 years. Now that’s one LONG TERM relationship. Over all these years she has been my rock, my strength, my partner, sometimes the one that makes me the craziest and the angriest but always my friend, my love, and my better half. This strong, beautiful, brilliant, black woman always amazes me. She finds to the strength to fight for what she believes in and loves, including the strength to overcome breast cancer and keep smiling and providing for those she loves.
In my eyes, SHE, is our families rock, our foundation.
We have raised three amazing adult children and have one adorable grandson. Over these many years we have shared everything from the excitement of bringing a new life into the world to the loss of close friends and our parents and through it all, we always find peace, happiness, love and joy in each other’s arms.
She has put up with, or as she says enjoyed, listening to me as I write songs, and the inevitable question “honey, you have a minute, what do you think about this sound or that part”. When I think about it, I have to say I am sorry love, but you married a guitarist and songwriter LOL. She has been my inspiration for much of my music including ones that are on this post.
Happy Anniversary my love, as I said last year, when we coined the phrase #BetterTogether we are much more together then a part.
