See Her Die (Bree Taggert Book 2)
by Melinda Leigh

In this second book, Bree the tough Philadelphia homicide detective, has traded that all in. Now Bree is back in her childhood small town, raising her late sisters two children and now the new Sheriff of this town.

In Bree’s first major case, after taking the position as Sheriff, she’s called out to a shooting at a campground closed for the winter. The only witness, a young woman, who is reporting that her friend was shot. As they start their search they find no body, no blood and no victim. Bree’s deputies don’t believe the witness but Bree disagrees and starts to investigate.

Once Bree calls in former deputy Sheriff Matt Flynn and his K-9, they find the body of a brutally beaten and shot young man but he is not the victim. As they continue their search this small town will be rocked by a string of brutal murders. The chase is on, as they race against the clock to find the killer and stop him before he kills again.

As I’ve said in previous reviews, Melinda is an excellent writer, and this book is an excellent example of her skills. On my scale of 1 to 5, 1 being don’t bother and 5 a real page turner, I give See Her Die a solid, 5. This is a captivating story with great characters and a great read.
