Book Review: The Man of Legends

Hello fellow readers. In this review I’m covering a book I stumbled upon called The Man of Legends by Award winning science fiction mastermind Kenneth Johnson.

It’s New Years Eve weekend in New York 2001. A reporter Jillian for one of those trashy news papers, you find at the checkout line in the grocery store. Stumbles onto a mystery. While going through old photos for a fluff piece, she stumbles upon photos of a man standing alongside Ulysses S. Grant, Theodore Roosevelt, and Gandhi in three different photographs spanning eighty-five years and the man looks exactly the same in all three photos.

Meanwhile in another part of New York, Will, a thirty-three year old man full of charm, wit and charisma is looking forward to the new year with excitement and hope that this time, things will be different. Haunted by his secret past, an over zealous Vatican emissary, a shadowy dangerous stranger and elderly UN envoy named Hanna. Will is on the run, but he has been for a very long time.  Together Will, Jillian and Hanna must unravel an ancient curse that stretches back two millennia and beyond.

This story is griping and mind bending. The characters are well-developed and you quickly find yourself rooting for them. I couldn’t put this one down.  On my scale or 1 to 5, 1 being don’t bother and 5 a real page turner. I gave The Man of Legends a solid 5. Kenneth Johnson did an excellent job in this exciting store that will leave you speechless.
